Meaning and Implementation

A pictogram is a graphic representation design to inform or to signal something in a visual an simplified way.

The products around us have several icons with information about their essential characteristics. This information must be true, verified, demonstrable and easy to understand by the consumer.

The pictograms are useful for a quick-understanding about the basic information of the product (security, protection, instructions, composition, dangers, recycling, etc.) without reading the instructions, that sometimes are difficult or in a language that the consumer isn´t fluent in.

Significant improvements in our disposable gowns for hospital patients

Following the model of continuous improvement, we have made some changes in one of our usual products, to preserve the privacy of patients and to make easier to people with reduced mobility the closures of neck and back.

As you can see in the photo, it is a new patented model of hospital gown, nightgown type. The differences presented against a usual gown are: firstly, the locking system; and secondly, the opacity, because it´s made of a different material which avoids uncomfortable transparencies.

New product: Nitrile glove Aachen Protect

On this occasion, we will go into detail about a glove that is available some time ago, but we have not yet had the opportunity to present through the blog. It is a new nitrile glove, natural latex´s protein-free, ideal for people with latex allergies. In this sense, this glove is just to cover the need the users had of having a glove equivalent to the AachenGrip one, but without latex: the nitrile glove AachenProtect.

As the AachenGrip one, it has an extra thickness and strength, which gives the user additional protection in high-risk practices. The breaking strength of the glove AachenProtect is 3 times higher than the conventional nitrile glove´s, and has the same tensile strength. Compared to its equivalent in latex, the latter is 25% more resistant to breakage, but that is because the elasticity of latex, which nitrile can not match, but can approach. Both have similar thicknesses, around 25% thicker than a conventional glove of nitrile or latex, and an AQL of 1.5.

New European directive about electronic hiring

Latex Allergy

We have recently noticed that the number of incidents related to dermal and respiratory symptoms have increased during the last years. This is what we call “latex allergy”.

Latex is widely used in our environment, about 40,000 everyday and professional products contain both natural and synthetic latex.

According to the information provided by Ibermutuamur, after analysing the statistical data collected from occupational pathologies derived from exposure to latex there has been a significant increase of such pathologies, where about 5% corresponds to health personnel and less than 1% corresponds to general population.

New nitrile glove: AachenFortis

In this occasion, we introduce you a new product of the growing disposable gloves family. It is the nitrile glove Aachen Fortis, as the rest of nitrile gloves, free of natural latex, suitable for natural latex´s alergic people. This material is very elastic, so it doesn´t add pressure to the hand and avoids the fatigue of the user. Its AQL is 1.0, what we remind, the quality is better when smaller is AQL number.

This glove responds to a need that was primarily found in food industries and mechanical and automotive workshops. These sectors need the glove to be disposable, but also to have higher breaking resistance and tensile strenght. For example, disposable nitrile gloves intended for the health sector have a breaking resistance of around 6 Newtons (depending on the specific glove), and the Aachen Fortis one has twice the strength, 12 Newtons. It is the same with the tensile strength, the Aachen Fortis one exceeds the breakage resistance of a disposable nitrile glove designed for healthcare use by around 35%.
